A video by award-winning visual artist and long-term AIDS survivor and activist, Kurt Weston

December 1 is World AIDS Day, a day to remember those we’ve lost to this decades-long pandemic.

This year, to commemorate World AIDS Day, Visual AIDS presented a program called Everyone I Know Is Sick. The program features selected videos by various artists. One of these artists is my mentor and friend, award-winning photographer Kurt Weston. His short video is called Losing the Light, inspired by a self-portrait with the same name and part of his well-known Blind Vision series.

Everyone I know Is Sick premiered at The Whitney Museum, in New York City, on November 30, 2023. Find out more about it here.

Check out Kurt Weston’s video by following the link: https://video.visualaids.org/Kurt-Weston-Losing-the-Light

It’s a powerful, remarkable and unforgettable story of what it means and takes to live with HIV.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

  1. A quite shocking video about a kind of life that we don’t think about every day….
