It’s been a long time since I last posted. Summer’s over, and time has not been on my side. Not in a bad way, but I’ve been working around the clock all summer and pretty much since the beginning of this year. And what a year it has been–one marked by loss and business around, as well as through the loss.

So, what has been keeping me from posting on a more regular basis, you might ask?

Lots of things:

• weekly photo shoots, including promotional, branding, product, and my usual portrait photography sessions, as well as teaching photography classes

• photographing summer events, such as the Fourth of July fireworks

• photographing the 9/11 Tribute in Light, as I do every year

• working on other photo and video projects – more on that later, when I can share more

• contributing on a more regular basis to the Digital Photo Academy newsletter

• having my photography work featured locally during Pride Month

• other teaching and creative group activities, mostly related to HIV and AIDS

• I was a panelist and spoke about HIV and AIDS, as well as my book, Journeys Through Darkness: A Biography, at two events, including on the award-winning show No Boundaries Up Close and Personal with celebrity host Ron B.

I’ve also been working on other projects, mostly related to HIV and AIDS education and awareness, some of them related to books. Again, I’ll share more about those books as soon as possible.

And speaking of books, I’ve been thinking about writing another book for the longest time. Ideas come and go, but nothing seems worth pursuing. Not yet, anyway. Meanwhile, I’ve been rewriting Journeys, as an exercise of sorts, if you want to call it that way.

Summer is gone. Fall is in the air. I’m not ready for winter. Not ever. That said, each season brings new challenges, as well as possible new projects and creative work.
