Darkness

A Visual Rendering

In light of what’s happening, in real time, in this country, many of us are watching in disbelief as darkness, thick and terrifying as it is, is settling in, taking hold of our lives.

For how long? Nobody knows.

Are we gonna survive it? Nobody knows.

Those who’ve lived and survived this kind of darkness are experiencing even more trauma. How could this happen? How and why have so many been so ignorant and for so long, to allow it to happen, to allow it to get to this point? A point of no return. It’s so unfortunate and so unbelievably sad.

What does utter hopelessness look like, feel like? There are various layers and flavors, if you will, of hopelessness. While I’ve experienced some facets of it, myself, I’m not ready to go through the kind of hopelessness that’s coming our way this time around.
