June 5, 1981: The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) publishes its first Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report on HIV and AIDS.
Years later, June 5 came to be known as the Long-Term HIV and AIDS Survivors Awareness Day.
More recently, several long-term survivors I’ve come to know shared a few thoughts about living with HIV and the now decades-long pandemic in a 2022 article (p.36).
