…and hopefully a smile in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic

I hope this finds you well and healthy. In a previous post, I promised to eventually share something that might brighten our spirits, if only for a moment. After all, we might need that kind of moment these days, as we constantly try to maneuver our way through the jungle that’s the Coronavirus pandemic. And, although we try to take it one day at a time, it can be stressful, frustrating, and downright depressing. Therefore, while in the midst of all that’s happening right now, I believe that, every now and then, we need a moment to take our mind off it all and remember happier times….

And so, here are a few of my brighter, lighter memories from this past holiday season, when I got to meet Lumi, the newest member of my extended family:

And her wish was granted:

“’Sun going down’ on the last day of the year catches me with sleepy dog in my arms, taking one final glance back at 2019 before daring to look forward to 2020,” I was writing at the time. Little did I know….

Lumi and I wish you all the very best. Stay safe, stay inside (if possible), and, hopefully, all will be well in the end.

As always, thanks for stopping by,

Alina Oswald

PS: if there is a silver lining to this COVID-19 pandemic, is that, at least in the NYC area, most shelter animals have been adopted. That’s proof that, yet again, we turn to animals (and also art) to see us through our darkest hour. Ain’t that something?

    1. Oh, thank you! Well, Lumi, in particular :-). But, yes, she’s sweet and wants everybody to play with her, all the time. That, of course, is not a problem for me. 🙂 Thanks again, appreciate your kind words.
