Happy International Women’s Day!
Today some of us celebrate women–our mothers, grandmothers, aunties, cousins, sisters, our role models, teachers, and so on. This year in particular, let’s celebrate those advocating for women’s rights, for human rights.
Here are a few of the inspiring women I’ve met along the way. Many of them have been my role models for all or most of my life, others, I’ve met more recently. They’ve been my inspiration, my rock, my North Star, as well as my supporters. With a few I’ve reconnected after decades of silence, a silence caused by circumstances more or less beyond our control. Many more, I haven’t gotten to photograph just yet. Thank you to all the wonderful women in my life!
There’s a lot that I’d like to say regarding women–women’s strength and determination, women rights (and that “women rights are human rights”) as well as women coming together to defend our rights, and so much more.
But for now I’m just going to wish all the women out there, and in particular the women who’ve made a difference in my life,
Happy International Women’s Day!

And here I am (bad hair day and while freezing in studio, but humbled to be there), on Ron B’s show, talking about women artists and women empowerment together with other women artists (and also activists) I admire:
Ron B’s show, No Boundaries Up Close and Personal to talk about women empowerment and women artists
As always, thanks for stopping by.
