What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, or so they say. I haven’t been sick in decades, but I did get sick right before Thanksgiving and, while it hasn’t killed me (yet), I’m still struggling to completely get rid of it, this nasty, lingering… the thing that has taken over my existence for over a month now. But while being pinned down and slowed down against our own will is no fun, it does put things into perspective and sheds new light on one’s priorities, goals, and dreams. In other words, sickness or something similar happening around the holidays and the passing of yet another year helps us better assess what’s important in our life, maybe it even helps us come up with better, more realistic resolutions that we can actually keep.
So, remember “making a list and checking it twice” for the holidays? Well, same goes for the New Year’s resolutions, I guess. So, what are some of my 2017 resolutions?
Prioritize. Prioritize. Prioritize. Goals, projects, clients, time, and others. (this is not a new resolution, just something I have to remind myself every so often)
Focus and stay focused on goals.
Take it one day at a time. Some projects are longer or need more than just 140 characters to be completed.
Follow through with important projects, even personal projects, ideas, dreams, and goals.
Don’t have time for something that might be really important in the long run? Make time!
Every once in a while, find a reason to, and don’t be afraid to glow, even when that glow might be enveloped in complete darkness.
As always, thanks for stopping by!
Happy New Year and hope we all keep our 2017 resolutions.
