Photographing the Fourth of July Fireworks with an iPhone
To be honest, I didn’t plan on photographing the fireworks this year. But then, by the time the golden hour faded into blue, I changed my mind. By then it was too late for me to pack more serious gear, and so I decided to just use my iPhone, handheld, for some stills and video.
I found my way to a pier, and, luckily, to a spot somewhat away from the chattery groups of people pouring in. And I’m glad I did go, because the fireworks did not disappoint. The fiery display started on the East River, behind the Lower Manhattan skyline, and a couple of minutes later, on the Hudson River.
As usual, it was a loud show of painting with light on the night’s sky.

As always, thanks for stopping by,
