It’s Thanksgiving week here, in the U.S., thus, I guess, a time to count our blessings. But the question “What are you thankful for?” is a pretty loaded question, I believe. Don’t get me wrong, I’m thankful and grateful for a lot of things, people and blessings in my life. And yet….

For now, for this Thanksgiving, let’s just say that I’m thinking of my loved ones and the peaceful moments we’ve shared over the years. I long for these moments, for that togetherness more and more these days….

Let me ask you this: what are you thankful for?

Thank you, as always and especially this holidays, for stopping by.

  1. I am especially grateful for the fact that I still live in a country where there is no war and that I (rent) a home with all the basic comfort that we all consider far too obvious. That there is a car in front of the door and a bicycle in the shed, with which I can move freely and finally, that I also have an income with which I can provide myself with the necessities of life. Anyone who has all that lives as a happy person. Not convinced, look at the countries at war, the overcrowded refugee camps or simply the homeless in your own city.
Do we really have a reason to complain, I didn’t think so… and yet so many people do it all the time. I find that incomprehensible.

    1. Thanks for sharing! You are so right :-). I, too, am grateful for many things in my life, not complaining. That said, sometimes, while looking around and taking in all that’s happening around us, the future might seem a bit bleak. And that’s why I believe that it’s important to cherish what we have, and hope that it will get better.

Again, I appreciate your note very much!
