Documenting HIV and AIDS

It was at the height of the AIDS crisis when I attended an AIDS conference as my mother’s guest (my mom, who’s an infection disease doctor). Although I was young at the time, I became intrigued with the virus that could cause so much harm, and, many years later, I discovered A&U Magazine–America’s AIDS Magazine and began covering HIV and AIDS. Over the years I’ve interviewed and photographed artists, activists, scientists and many others who are involved in the fight to find a cure for this pandemic. Some of my images were also featured in the AIDS Museum, and Visual AIDS, and Leslie-Lohman Museum shows.
