The A&U Digital Archive

Those of you familiar with my work might remember that I used to work for an HIV-focused national publication for almost twenty years. Then, in 2022, the publication known as A&U: Art & Understanding Magazine (and also America’s AIDS Magazine) folded.

My overall experience with Art & Understanding was bittersweet. Some memories I thought I buried deep, never to revisit again, yet they keep resurfacing.

Yet, a few months ago, a good memory resurfaced. Reconnecting and collaborating again with individuals I admire felt good; it brought back some of the good old times of art and of understanding.

This renewed collaboration made possible, at least in part, the new A&U digital archive, as complete as it can be, now available on JSTOR.
