The Auroras, the northern and southern lights, have shown themselves to many of us, in many parts of the world. I’ve always found these apparitions reminders that there’s more to life than just its physical realm. Perhaps they’re signs from above, from loved ones who’re not with us anymore.
Speaking of signs from above, I find it interesting that the most recent (still present) Aurora lights showed themselves just around Mother’s Day. I could only see images of them, as I can only see Mom (whose name was Aurora) in photographs, nowadays.

Also, just like photography, which is a blend of science, art, and magic, the auroras are manifestations of science, art, and magic. Mostly, they’re works of art created by natural light that take “painting with light” to a whole new, out-of-this-world level. That’s my belief.

Note: a little bit of history~
Coined by Galileo in 1619, the term “aurora borealis” comes from Aurora, the goddess of dawn, and Boreas, the Greek god of the north wind. (The term “australis” comes from Auster, the Greco-Roman god of the south wind.) As the story goes, Aurora, the goddess of dawn, traveled from east to west to herald the arrival of the sun.
Hope you get to catch a glimpse of the beautiful Auroras while they’re still here, with us light painting the night’s sky.
As always, thanks for stopping by,
