Thanksgiving is just around the corner here, and for some reason the thought of it, of the holiday season in general, made me think of sepia photography. Maybe that’s because of the mood I often associate with sepia tones–dark, but not too dark, with traces of doomsday and disarray–the holiday mood.

So, as a nod to the upcoming holiday season, here are a few images in sepia tones:

How do you feel about the holidays? Love them? Hate them? What mood do you associate with this (not necessarily) magical time of the year?

Let me know, if you want to.

As always, thanks for stopping by,

  1. I love sepia (and monotone in general).

My favourite is….. on the chopping block. I could easily have that image framed on my wall.

I don’t have a holiday period now I’m retired. I don’t have weekends, public holidays or Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas.

I just celebrate 365 days per year with seasonal changes in the weather and urban landscape. I like to think there are no bad days, just different days from the one before. That’s the life of an urban hermit with chronic pain and fatigue.

    1. Hi Vicki,

Thanks for your note, and I appreciate it. I also hear you, especially the part about living with chronic pain and fatigue…. It takes a lot of strength and determination, I believe. I also think that creative work, such as photography, does help, if nothing else as a form of art therapy, self expression, etc.

Also, I enjoy your photography work (and blog) very much. Thanks again and it’s always hearing from you 🙂
