“Text and photos by….” Oftentimes we see these words at the top of an article, following a title and subtitle. That’s because in the publishing world we do tell stories in words and images, or “text and photos.” Our writing and imagery need to interlace and work together to bring a subject to life, grab readers’ attention, raise interest and intrigue, and thus tell a story in the most compelling of ways.
For the past twenty years, I have worked in the publishing industry, interviewing and photographing amazing individuals, and telling their stories in words and images. Here are a few examples:
