A new sculpture has recently appeared on one of Jersey City’s piers. Representing a giant, very white and very bright head of a young woman with her index finger touching her lips, in a shhhh-like gesture, the 80-ft sculpture by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa was, until recently, surrounded by cranes and other construction equipment. Now the sculpture is supposed to open to the public this coming weekend.
I haven’t had the chance to properly photograph it, but did manage to capture a few quick shots, mostly from a distance.
