Photographing the World Trade Center area in New York City
Tomorrow is the first day of September. For twenty years I’ve looked at this date, September 1, as the beginning of a countdown to a sad day, September 11. For almost twenty years I’ve photographed the 9/11 ceremonies and commemorations, and plan on doing the same this year.
A few days ago I was reminded of the significance of this sad day (this year it’s the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks…) when I found myself in the World Trade Center area, running a few errands.I had only my iPhone with me, but I did manage to capture a few images.
PS: All images were shot on iPhone #shotoniphone. The image posted above was captured as a LiveView image and then applied the LongExposure effect, to blur the motion (the commuters walking through the Oculus train station).
