International Workers’ Day

International Workers Day

First of May is International Workers’ Day also known as May Day or “Labor Day” how those outside the U.S. call it. Today, I can’t help but think of those who’ve come before us, fought and sacrificed for future generations to have a better life. Come to think of it, I went to a high school named after one of those heroes. I seldom think about that nowadays.

International Workers Day is about fighting for rights, for justice. Over the years I’ve met many advocates for human rights, for equal rights, for access to care, in particular when it comes to HIV and AIDS.

Here’s to the fighters, heroes and advocates I’ve met along the way.

Happy International Workers Day! Let us not forget what it represents.

As always, thanks for stopping by!
